It has been a life long dream to visit Disney World and I am getting close to making that a reality!!! I booked our vacation last week! I have dreamed of going to Disney World since I was a kid....(never happened) and then as an adult to take my own children. So this will be our first time to Disney for ALL of us!
It is not going to be extravagant or anything....I would have loved to spend a whole week touring Disney World and stay at the Polynesian Resort and all of that, but with a family of six, that could get really pricey....as in I would probably have to sell my house.....or a kidney.
I am proud to say we are going in May for a three night, four day stay at the Port Orleans Riverside Resort....just a standard room...we are flying.....yes! all of us! I figured since we are only going for 3 nights that driving would just be 1. dumb and 2. torture.
Since we only have 2 full days and 2 half days we are only going to the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. Epcot and Hollywood Studios will just have to wait til next time.
Ever since I booked the trip I have been a little obsessive about the planning...stalking all websites Disney, friending all things Disney on facebook, and even buying Disney guidebooks! I am consumed! I just want to make the best out of what little time we have. I don't want to be rigid about a schedule or anything, but I want to make sure we get the most of our vacation.
They say you can make reservations 180 days in advance so I have started reserving our dinners! My princess, Maddie is one of the main reasons for actually going to Disney since she is Cinderella obsessed right now. I reserved breakfast at Cinderellas Royal Table in the Castle. Totally excited about that. All of us girls are attending that. It is pricey! I have also reserved Chef Mickey's, Tusker House, 1900 Park Fare dinner with Cinderella and friends, and a dinner at the Polynesian's 'Ohana. Lot's of character meals!
If you haven't noticed, I am super excited! I think I am more excited than the kids! and yes, the kids know we are going. I just couldn't keep it a surprise!

My foot hurts :(
After my half marathon in the morning, I took the kids to Kings Island in the evening. Needless to say, I could barely walk. I was sore from head to toe. But now my right foot is HURTING like crazy. The soreness in my legs have gone away but the pain in my foot remains. It hurts on the very top of my foot, worse with weight bearing. Its better when I sleep. I have been sleeping ok and does not interfere....but upon walking it starts to hurt again. I think it might be a stress fracture....boo! I swear....I just want to run!
If its a fracture then I will be out for 6 weeks....according to Dr. Google....
I figure I really don't need to go to the Dr, I don't know what they would do.....except tell me I have a stress fracture....I am going to wait and see what happens. If it gets worse and after a few weeks if I still have pain I guess I will go......
Here's hoping my foot is ok!

It's Official! I ran 13.1!!!
It's OFFICIAL! I ran a half marathon for real! Ever since the Corridor Classic, I just couldn't look past the fact that the course was short by almost a half mile. That half mile counts! So, I took that as one long run and part of my training. On a whim, I signed up for another one. It was called the Halloween Half Marathon.
It was a cold, rainy, windy start to the day. Temps were in 40s at the starting line with a slight drizzle. Winds were at 16 miles per hour. I have no idea what is in store. I have never run in weather like this. I trained mostly in the summer so I had no idea what to wear. I asked a running friend of mine and she suggested, tights, a long sleeve shirt, a running jacket, and $1 gloves. Well, I am pretty new to running so I didn't have half the stuff. I did have long running tights and the dollar gloves. I just wore an old sweatshirt with a tech tee underneath. It worked out great. I took the gloves off at about mile 5 and pulled up my sweatshirt sleeves when I got warmer and it was just right. I never got too hot. The wind made sure of that. Once I actually got warmed up, I honestly thought the weather was great for running. Right after the gun went off the drizzle pretty much stopped too.
Miles 0-3 were challenging this time around. It was hard for me to get in my groove and my legs were still getting used to the cold.
Miles 3-8 were great! I felt awesome! Legs and feet felt good. Lungs good. Mind and emotional state....Good!
Mile 9-12....SUCKED! So many hills! UP and DOWN.....The down was awesome, but going back up was very challenging and took a lot out of me. Went up two hills about 50 ft high......plus a few more hills not as high.
Mile 13 was also challenging.....my body was tired! I was ready to be done!!! But in that last mile, I passed two more racers!
a pre race pic
In line to start racing
That lady behind me was a speed walker. Guess what? She passed me and stayed ahead of me the whole time!
beautiful autumn scenery to run in
See that lady in the orange shirt? This was mile 5 ish...
Whoop whoop!
The orange lady shirt is BEHIND me now!
And stayed behind me the whole race!
High Five Allie! My daughter supporting me!!!
Ervin and Allie came out to support me. It really made a difference. Whenever I saw them on the course cheering me on I ran as hard and long as I could. They kept me going! They were at several spots on the course. After they cheered me on and I passed them, they drove to another spot ahead. I never knew where they would be.
Mile 7ish
Mile 11ish
Finish Line Baby!!!
STATS:
Finished in 2 hours 41 minutes!
Chip Time: 2:41:19
12:20 pace
4 out of 5 in female age group
108 out of 113 racers
This was a pretty small race!
I am super proud of myself. I beat my first race time! AND this race was longer!!!! and HILLY!
Can I get a WHOOP WHOOP!!!!

My First Half Marathon!!! (well almost)
My first half marathon was this past Sunday October 14th. After 3 months of training I was ready to get this over with! The first three miles were easy. But I have to say, I was feeling UNeasy when all of these people were passing me by. First an older lady (looked her up and found out she was 74 years old) then a visually impaired athlete, then an older man ( he had to be like 80!) then another and another! I had to calm myself down so I could just focus on the mile I was on. My runkeeper was working great telling me how far I had gone every quarter mile. I found it odd that when I saw mile marker 3, my runkeeper was telling me we were at mile 2.5 ish. I just kept on..... At mile 5 my mind was going negative! I had brief thoughts of giving up. "Why was I running this? Why is this so important to me? I am tired! I have 8 more freaking miles to go! Oh gosh!" But I quickly banished those thoughts and said to myself "you can do this!!!"
At mile 5.5 ish, I had a problem! My IPhone went dead on me! My music was GONE!!! OH NO! I was so upset! What was I going to do!!!!????!?!?!? I decided I had to keep going. I convinced myself that I didn't need music to run. All I had to do was RUN! So I kept on going. I had to listen to my hard breathing which usually freaks me out. I don't like hearing myself breathe hard like that. It sounds like I will pass out at any minute. But, I got used to it and just tried to enjoy the atmosphere and hearing everyone cheer and say good job as I passed.
At mile 8 I ran up beside this lady. She started to talk to me. She said I was doing a great job and that I was AWESOME! What an uplift. She then passed me! At mile 10, the wind started to really bother me! Running against the wind is not cool. It was pushing me back hard and I could no longer run as hard as I was. I Started to do run/walk intervals to the end. The last few miles, I passed a ton of people that passed me the first three miles, including: The old man, the old lady, the visually impaired runner, a cute couple that had matching shirts that said they were running for the wedding, the lady that said I was awesome (found out her name was Wendy too), and a couple of girls running together.
When I saw the finish line I started running my ass off. I ended up passing another person at the very end! When I got close the finish, I heard my friends cheering for me! They surprised me! I had no idea they were going to be there!!! My family wasn't able to be there because Allie (my 8 year old) had a cheer competition at the same time! My dad came to support me and took pics of me too! I was so happy to be done!

waiting for the gun to go off
the front line
passing the lady in the pink shirt was awesome!
Crossing the finish line!
Jackie and Sarah surprising me! I cried like a baby!
Sarah made me a sign! Awesome!!!
After my dad treated me out to "breakfast", I came home and found out that the course was cut a little short by almost a half mile due to a miscommunication with the police. I was bummed! I still had not completed my 13.1. It was more like 12.66. So my runkeeper in the beginning was right. The mile markers were off. I was so very disappointed! I really wanted to put that 13.1 sticker on my car. I decided that I was still going to put it on......and now I have decided that I am not going to. I am going to run another one and wait. I want that sticker to be real!
I ended up finishing in 2:43. And I wasn't last. There were 25 people behind me that finished. So I don't think I did too bad!
So this is Tuesday and I am still so sore! My quads are so sore....It is hard to move! I had a hard time re hydrating afterwards because my stomach was killing me! It was burning! I also have felt a little flu like too! Running 12 plus miles is no joke!
All in all, I had a great experience and I cant wait to do another one!

Pumpkin Patch!
Family Time was had this past Friday at the Pumpkin Patch. We went with Allie's girl scout troop and we had a really good time. The ride was really bumpy and the trail was really muddy! This was the best hayride I have ever been on. Here are a few pics:
I was not lying when I said it was a muddy ride! Thank goodness we didnt get splashed. I am impressed that we even were able to get through it!
Here's a moment that makes me smile. Big brother helping little sister pick out a pumpkin!
Nasty muddy water on the way to the patch. It was stinky too!
Look Mom! No Hands!

I am going to be running 8 miles today!
Yup....I am running 8 miles today.....last week I ran seven and was so glad to be done! Training is going well....no injuries or anything....although I am really sore at times....especially after sitting for too long. I know I probably have plantar fasciitis......but I will not give up!
My family has been very supportive and even brought water to me on my seven mile run. They met me at the 4 mile mark with ice cold water. It was really nice of them. Then on the last mile, my kids walked/ran with me home. Allison said something that really made me heart melt. She said " Mom, you are the best mom anyone could have. You take care of us, you pay the bills, you work hard, you try to lose weight and exercise, you cook us dinner....." I really needed that.
Sometimes I doubt my mothering abilities.....and I try the best I can. That really meant a lot to me! Training takes lots of time away from them. I try to include them, for example, I usually bring Allison with me on my shorter runs. She will ride her bike. On my six mile run the other day, I dragged Ervin along. He rode his bike and trailer. The babies were in the trailer. The other kids rode their bikes too. It is good exercise for all of us! But, the time can add up and sometimes I feel it takes away from them. Especially when I work so much.....been working overtime the last 2 weeks!
One thing that is really irking me is that I am not losing any weight. Confessional: I have actually gained 8 pounds since my lowest weight in June. *pissed.
But hey, I only have me to blame. I need to watch what I eat.....but it is so hard. Craving carbs like crazy!
Anyhow, wish me luck on my 8 miler. I am going to need it! My goal is just to finish it!

in training!
I signed up for my first half marathon! Its on Oct 14th so I have a while to train. I am on week two of training and its going pretty good so far! I am nervous about building up on my long runs. This week my long run is 5 miles, next week 6, and increases by 1 mile every week. It is a little overwhelming but I am up for the challenge! I will keep you all updated!
As far as WW, I have taken a little break. I am planning to get back into it soon! I haven't gained any more weight, the running has helped with that. I am just trying to figure out a few things in my head....get things together.....I need to shed more pounds so that I can run faster and longer. I know that will help!
Hopefully, my next post will show that I have lost more weight!

it's been so long
Uggghhhh.....I havent blogged in forever! My life is so busy......I havent had time to blog. WW hasnt been going so well this month. I think the whole Vegas vacation ruined that. I havent been to a meeting in almost 4 weeks. I need to get back, because the scale reflects the fact that I havent been going. I dont want to get on the scale and see a 5 pound gain. I gained 8 pounds while in Vegas but lost 4 pounds right away....WATER WEIGHT! So I was happy to see that go.....but for some reason my head is not back in the game yet. I didnt exercise for a week.....which made me feel sick! I felt so heavy and sluggish....So, I am still up 4 pounds, plus a pound because I am not on track. June is always the month I get side tracked and then the rest of the year is a bust. I really want to change that this time and get back on track! I have a few things.....4th of July, my anniverary, and a visit out of town that will be challenging. Hopefully, I will get things going in the right direction again!

Low on time!
It has been forever since I blogged and I am sorry! I am still on track and I think I am doing good. It is going a little slow, but I think this is a good thing.
I went to my WW meeting today and I lost 2.2 more pounds. I have now lost a total of 28 pounds! I also did some measuring a few days ago because I just wasn't happy with the scale last week. I have lost a total of 15 inches! 4 inches around my bust and hips, 3 inches at my waist, 1 inch in my arms and thighs!
I also ran a 5k last week, very happy with myself. I had the fastest time I have ever had plus I ran the whole time! I finished in 34 minutes. I didn't stop for anything! I cant wait to do another! I am planning on signing up for a half marathon in October. The only thing that is holding me back right now are my knees! My right knee is hurting like crazy after a run. It hurts to go down stairs mostly. I am icing right now as we speak! From what I can tell from GOOGLE, it is runners knee. We will see. I hope this old body of mine can keep up. It is so funny now......how much I want to get up and move....but now my body is saying......wait up! Hold on! haha.......
I feel great people!

quick update
I missed weigh in last week because of my work schedule...so I weighed in this week and was actually up a pound. I also weighed in right after work so I know I was carrying around some water weight so I am not going to stress about it. According to scale at home I am down a pound. We shall see what the scale says next week...
I am still feeling pretty good. I am continuing to jog outside. Some days suck and some days I absolutely love it. Today I ran 4 miles with Allie....she rode her bike. It was nice. My left knee hurts though.....Sometimes I feel like an old woman! I can tell that I have improved with my jogging as far as distance and endurance. I feels good to see that a month ago I could not have jogged that far without stopping for a walk break.
My clothes are fitting so much better! So happy about that!
Have a great week!

My old jeans fit!
Non scale victory! I can fit into one of my old pair of jeans! I haven't been able to wear them for years! Just this past December I tried them on and I couldn't fit them over my thighs! I still have a few more pairs that are still tight...but I am working on that! Another NSV, my underwear is getting too big. It is amazing what losing 24.4 pounds will do for you! Did you read that? I lost 24.4 pounds! YAY!
The journey so far has been pretty easy.....a few bumps in the road....but all in all very doable. I usually use every single one of my points.....all of my WPA and all of my exercise points. I think that is what makes it doable....and it doesn't make me feel deprived.....and I am still losing......Not at a super fast speed......but good enough!
Another thing.....I feel great....

I am back!!!
I had the time of my life in Cancun. It was money well spent for sure! Words cannot descibe how much fun we had and how it really enhanced our marriage. We bonded so well....we are still getting along. Ervin cannot wait to go back! and neither can I!!!!
A few things:
1. I got my husband drunk. He never gets drunk. That was so fun! I have video footage on it!
2. The food was delish. I didnt count points. But I did try to watch it...
3. I did gain 5 pounds but I have already lost it!
4. We had the most amazing room. I dont know how we go so lucky!
5. We have already decided that we are going back next year!
I hope you all enjoyed my pics.
Getting back to the daily grind was excruciating.

I lost 20 pounds!
I am happy to announce that I have lost 20 pounds! I have been at this for 12 weeks and it has been worth it. I think I am different this time around because I have not put myself on a time schedule for losing weight....and then planning to quit WW. I plan to keep going to meetings and I plan to stay a member until I lose all the weight I want to lose. This is something that I thought I never needed. I always thought I could do it on my own. The accountability of WW is what keeps me going.
I have another challenge though. I am going on vacation next week! and I am scared! I don't want to sit there on my vacation and count points! I want to enjoy myself. But , I also don't want to come back 5 pounds heavier. So my plan is to stay active. I have visions of jogging on the beach......walking to town and back....swimming..... and I have plans to eat lots of fruits and veggies..... and plans to drink lots of water.
My plan is to maintain. To live my life to the fullest.....yet maintain my weight! What a goal for the next two weeks!
So excited!!!!!

What? I actually enjoy running?????
That is something that I never thought I would say....or think.... or do....or be.....a runner??? Well, I am almost done with the Couch to 5K program. I am really enjoying how running makes me feel after I am done. I feel strong! I feel really good about myself when I am done. So, I have decided to keep doing it! I have decided to sign up for a half marathon! It is not until September so I have plenty of time to keep training and practicing. I am planning on a 5K in May to start. I am really excited!
Yesterday I went on a 3.81 mi run outside. It took me 45 minutes with a 11:59 pace. I burned over 500 calories. I think this running has really accelerated my weight loss too! I lost 3.6 pounds this week for a total of 18.4 pounds!!! YAY!!!
I am really enjoying the running apps you can download. I got me a brand new iphone a few weeks ago and I am in love! I am using the imapymyrun app. It tells me all of my stats and maps out every step. I also just downloaded runkeeper. I am going to try that out this week sometime.
Have a great week everyone!

So close to fifteen
I am getting really close to hitting a loss of 15 pounds. I lost 2.2 more pounds this week for a total of 14.8!
I was wondering what my weight would do this week....I ate every single extra point I had! For those of you that are scared to use your 49 extra points, don't be! They are there for you to use.....if I didn't have those extra points I think I would have already given up. Those points are vital for me to keep me going. I need them for outings and just for days where I feel more hungry than usual. Those points keep me from feeling deprived.
I am also excited to say that I finished up week 6 of Couch to 5k. I am not sure if I can finish week 7 this week, but I will try. I have a really painful blister on my heel from my run outside yesterday. It hurts like hell! I just bought new shoes last week and they were working fine. I felt an extra spring in my step! But that blister has put a damper on things now. I hope I can continue on. I don't want to give up on it now. Sometimes after a run, I feel so amazing and empowered......I can't even believe I just said that! haha.....
I almost cried at my WW meeting this morning. One of the members met her goal weight today. She stood up in front of everyone and just had tears of joy. She is older and said she has alot of health/heart problems. She said her cardiologist told her that she would never make goal because of all the medication she has to take. She said her blood pressure went from being 200s/120s to 120s//70s.! She showed him! It was awesome to witness!
Have a great week everyone!!!

Hey! I lost more weight!
So I didn't weigh in last week because I was dead tired! Weigh ins are in Thursday mornings and it seems that I work a ton of Wednesday nights! I just couldn't do it last week. I was falling asleep on the way home and decided to listen to my body and just go to bed!
Then I went to two parties this past weekend....a birthday party and a girls night out. Oh boy! I really had to get creative and figure out how I was gonna fit all of this partying in. On one night I stayed out until 4 am with a stop at Steak and Shake...and then the next night until 2 am. I passed on margaritas and shakes......and instead had many shots of Tequila. Tequila is 4 points a shot! Let's just say I spent a good 32 points on shots! I partied like a 21 year old... and I realized that I am too old for this stuff! ha!
Anyway, weigh in this week went pretty well considering all the partying. I lost 1.2, for a total of 12.6 pounds so far. Not too bad for 7 weeks.
I would also like to add that I am on week 6 of Couch to 5K! I am super proud of myself. Last week I ran for 20 minutes straight! It was hard, but it felt great!

Happy weigh in!
I lost 4.2 pounds this week! So much happier this week than last. I was feeling so down last week and now I feel so much better...it goes to show that if you don't give up that hard work will pay off.
I exercised every day this week. I also tracked everything I ate. I wrote down every single thing. I drank lots of water and I ate lots of veggies and fruits. One thing about being on WW is that the family eats more veggies and fruits too. It's a win win!
11.4 pounds down! Woo Hoo!!!

My first real challenge
So I weighed in today expecting a loss....and I weighed the exact same weight as last week. I am not going to lie. I am disappointed. I know that I will not lose every week, but I am really working hard here. I worked out 6 days this week burning over 700 calories at a time at the gym. I am so MAD!!!!
I immediately went to the gas station and bought a Dove Chocolate bar and ate it like a maniac! LOL...what the hell? It was six points of pure deliciousness...
I am a true emotional eater. I could have just bought a few doughnuts too. But, I recovered from my manic outburst.
This is my first real challenge. I will usually go ahead and give up and give in. Just go down the path of ...." I am just going to be fat my whole life....." speech and move on and shove all of my WW materials in a drawer never to be seen again.
This is my challenge to not give up.
So I had a minor set back. I gotta keep going. Keep moving in the right direction or I will never get there. It is just so hard to see the scale stay the same when I have worked so hard. It really upset me!!!!
UGHHHH! Why isn't this easy? Why do I have to be fat? Why don't I have any skinny genes???? Why isn't life fair???????
I could just laugh at these ridiculous questions.
SO, I am moving on. I will count that candy bar. I will track it. I will be accountable. I will continue on with this journey.
I can do this, right?
RIGHT!!!!!!!!!

Feeling good!
Week 3 on WW is a success! I lost another 3. 2 pounds! Happy happy and more happy with this result!
The best part is that I feel so much better! I am over 7 pounds lighter! A great loss means more motivation for me!
Another great part to this week is that I was able to incorporate eating out for a friends birthday and still lose. We ate at PF Changs and I was really stressing about what I could eat there. I lose control when I eat out because I don't know all of the nutrition facts and portion sizes...and the food is sooooo good!
Well I really prepared by looking up the points values online and figuring out what was best to order. The chicken lettuce wraps there are awesome! I even had dessert. They have these mini desserts and I ordered the mini "Great Wall of Chocolate". Lets just say that it was mind blowing orgasmic!
I also incorporated exercise in to that day and extra on the next day. And I made sure to have a light breakfast and lunch!
Super happy about results this week! Next week marks a whole month on WW and I am gonna celebrate. I haven't stuck to a plan this long in over a year! Last year I learned that if I eat whatever the heck I wanted that I would gain. I now know that eating whatever I want all the time is not in the cards for me. I am going to have to work at this my entire life....like it or not. It is tough....but that is the truth.
Another thing I realized is that regular exercise is needed....your body and heart need it. So I just have to do it!
Yay me!!!

Week 2
I lost another 1.6 #'s. It's coming off...slowly but surely. I am happy for a loss, but I think my actual weight was off a bit. You see, I worked all night, then weighed in before bedtime. So, even though I weighed in the morning....it was really a "night weight." I notice I retain more water and all that after work. My ankles get a little swollen after working all night. So, I will take that loss and see what happens on the scale next week. I will also be weighing in "@ night" again...as I work Wednesday night next week....and the next few weeks after that.
The week went pretty smooth. I stayed on track and exercised my butt off 6 days. I must say, I feel better than I have in months! Now that is a plus!
I have to keep reminding myself of the reasons to lose...
* I will feel better
* I will look better
* I will decrease my risk of Diabetes
* I will be able to move around easier
* I will breathe easier
* I will live longer
* I will have more confidence
Just a few....

Week 1
I lost 2.4 pounds. As you can see there is not an exclamation point. I am a little disappointed. Usually the first week on WW shows a large loss. This was just so so. I know I am being ridiculous! I should just be happy that I lost weight!
Moving along....
I felt great this week. I was very dedicated and followed the plan to a T. I never went over on points. I exercised 4 days this week. I had lots of fruits and veggies and planned my meals out....Lots of water...didn't get hungry too much.
The meeting today was about planning. Making sure you have a plan. This is hard to work on for me. My schedule is so crazy. Sometimes I am awake over 26 hours and the plan sometimes fails when you are very hungry and tired. Lucky for me, the first week on WW, it worked out I only worked 1 day. The one day wasn't so bad.
Goal for this week is to plan out dinner...
And have low point snacks available.

I did it!
I re-joined weight watchers for the 4th time in my life! I am really excited about the program. I am looking forward to the accountability. I had my first meeting today and received all the materials I need. I then went grocery shopping and bought a ton of fruits and veggies. I am already tired. I have been awake since 330 am... I just could not sleep. I tossed and turned all night long. I think it was anxiety excitement related to joining today. I don't know....but I laid there in the dark for hours....it is def nap time!
Anyway, I just wanted to make it official!
I will be weighing in weekly with my thoughts...and hopefully my losses.
Here's to a great week!
